FAQ

What is the cost for the nanny?

There are no fees to be a nanny in our network!  We do not feel a nanny should be out anything other than some time. We will try and find the best family for you!

What does legally paid mean and consist of? Would I be an employee of the family?

Being legally paid means you will be a legal employee of the family.  They will collect a I9 and w-4 and you will recieve paycheck stubs, a W-2 and be required to file your taxes at the end of the year.  The Nanny Consultant is not the employer. The family always is the employer.

What is mileage reimbursement?

Mileage reimbursement is paid out generally monthly at 54.5 cents per mile if you are using your own car to transport children or use your car while on the job.  You can use a app or manualy track miles.  I recommend Mile IQ!  https://www.mileiq.com/

Can I apply with other agencies or find a family on my own?

Absolutely!  At the end of the day I want you to find the right fit and sometimes I won't have that family for you.  You can use my Parent Nanny Contract with any family,

How long does the process take?

As fast as you and the family go!  It can take weeks to just a couple days.

I need to renew my CPR. Can I still apply?

Yes!  Many parents are wanting a nanny who has recently taken the class. Just be sure to let us know when you are renewing. The Phinney Ridge Association has one for around $40 and Seattle Nanny Connection has one yearly as well in October for $45.

Do you have a Parent Nanny Contract?

Sure do!  I give every nanny a copy of my Parent Nanny Contract.  You can use my Parent Nanny Contract with any family,

What are the steps to apply?

You will need to fill out an application (located under the application tab) and I will collect your resume, CPR and First Aid card, written references (if available), and certificates (if available).  Once, the application has been approved we will move on to the next steps which include filling out some questions, a consent, and scheduling a meeting-must be in-person. We will finish with running your background check. I do not conduct interviews over Skype or any electronic device.  If you currently do not live in the Greater Seattle area we will meet once you are residing in the area.
